The publication brings together two thematic strands: a historical analysis of Transylvania focusing on medieval settlement categories (flandrenses, milites, hospites) and a commemorative reflection on 175 years of Belgian-Romanian diplomatic relations. It examines migration, institutional development and cultural interaction in medieval Central Europe while also embedding the discussion within modern diplomatic and scholarly networks.
